That made his heart thump so loudly it might have been heard even under his chestplate. She actually said it. The way she spoke those soft words in his ear like that, trying to hide her own burning face. He'd seen it plenty of times to be able to imagine it even if she tried to hide it.
"I...didn't think I'd actually hear that so soon." He chuckled at a loss for words but his tone betrayed that happiness in his heart just fine.
