Spending day after day in the cabin Natsu had built near the Guild, going on missions and living, being WITH Natsu was plain and simple, pure. Heaven. Lucy could genuinely not think of any time she was as happy as she was with him. It still amused her to think of the times she was too flustered to acknowledge her feelings for him, until things came to a head.

And then the kids came along during that mission - Nev and Justine, along with their 'mom' Regine. If Natsu becoming an integral part of Lucy's life was like completing her, then the kids and Regine were the added frosting on a perfected cake. Yeah that metaphor was all over the place. GRANTED it was a little difficult to get time alone with Nev and Justine almost demanding their attention a good amount of the time, but she didn't mind, and didn't think Natsu did either. They had their evenings together, and their little hiding spots to sneak away to, sometimes just for fun.

Meanwhile the first rays of light were beginning to filter in through the window-shades of their room, with Lucy snuggled up against Natsu's side, an arm wrapped around him with a faint smile on her lips. Not quite awake yet, but in that in-between point of just about to rouse. The birds had barely even begun to chirp when the distant BAM! of a door swinging open, followed by barely hushed giggling voices and scampering feet could be heard by Dragonslayer senses with ease, obviously heading towards said cabin.

"You too," Lucy murmured, snuggline even more into him, "Don't let me find out you stayed up watching me or something, you weirdo."

She paused at that latter comment, giving him an even stranger look, "How are you going to guarantee that?"

"Awwww how did you know what I was planning~?" Natsu shot back with a mock offended growl. Well how could she blame him though. The sight of Lucy's sleeping face was one of the most calming things in the world for him. Even more calming than happy's purring in his sleep.

"Hmhmhm~ I have my ways. Besides haven't you noticed how deep you sleep when I hold you real tight~?"

Lucy laughed, "It would be more of a suprise if I -didn't- know what you were planning, for as long as we've been together." Even before they became a couple. But she curled up against him more as if to soothe his poor mock-offended feelings.

"Hmmm," she pondered for a moment, then nodded a little, "I suppose you do have a point...I do sleep the best when I'm in your arms." And her mouth always felt sore from how much she was smiling in her sleep for it.

Well she had a point. Natsu had certainly let her in so much deeper than most that there was little wonder she would know him so well as she did. He grinned back at her while leaning up close.

"See I told you so~" Natsu purred tucking her in even more perfectly against him.

She shifted her arms around him to hold him close, using his nice warm shoulder as part of her pillow. BEST bed accessory ever. She'd only jokingly call him that though, of course. She does yawn a bit, what with that aura of security, love and comfort that radiated from him lulling her into relax into the blanket of warmth that he was. "Mmhmmm." She agreed, tilting her head a little to steal a goodnight kiss from her love. "Goodnight, Natsu~" though she does chuckle softly.

"You're always so smug..what'll you do if I'm too sore to move tomorrow.." she mumbled sleepily, tucked against him. Though she doesn't actually give him a chance to respond - she's already drifted off to sleep, a very happy celestial queen.

The fact that she couldn't even last long enough to say goodnight as well was sone of the cutest things about her. It also Allowed Natsu to admire the sight of her peacefully resting in his arms for a moment despite his earlier confession of intent.

"Love you, weirdo." He purred and put his lips to her temple again before he curled up around Lucy and closed his eyes with a content smile on his lips.
