Spending day after day in the cabin Natsu had built near the Guild, going on missions and living, being WITH Natsu was plain and simple, pure. Heaven. Lucy could genuinely not think of any time she was as happy as she was with him. It still amused her to think of the times she was too flustered to acknowledge her feelings for him, until things came to a head.

And then the kids came along during that mission - Nev and Justine, along with their 'mom' Regine. If Natsu becoming an integral part of Lucy's life was like completing her, then the kids and Regine were the added frosting on a perfected cake. Yeah that metaphor was all over the place. GRANTED it was a little difficult to get time alone with Nev and Justine almost demanding their attention a good amount of the time, but she didn't mind, and didn't think Natsu did either. They had their evenings together, and their little hiding spots to sneak away to, sometimes just for fun.

Meanwhile the first rays of light were beginning to filter in through the window-shades of their room, with Lucy snuggled up against Natsu's side, an arm wrapped around him with a faint smile on her lips. Not quite awake yet, but in that in-between point of just about to rouse. The birds had barely even begun to chirp when the distant BAM! of a door swinging open, followed by barely hushed giggling voices and scampering feet could be heard by Dragonslayer senses with ease, obviously heading towards said cabin.

Honestly life had taken such a wonderful turn since he had made his feelings clear with Lucy. Every aspect of it felt like a treasure which in turn made his dragon instincts flare up to protect all of them yet again.

He turned around in bed nuzzling against Lucy's neck before chuckling against her ear.

"We're going to have some little visitors in about a minute~"

She muffled a soft giggle of her own at the affectionate nuzzling, and sighed fondly at the news. "Honestly you can set a clock to those two." she chuckled, "I had better get washed up. Who knows what adventure they've discovered today." And she refused to go on an adventure dirty and grimy!

"Get going then~ I'll keep them busy first until you get ready to play with them~" Natsu chuckled softly and leaned up to press his lips to Lucy's for a moment before releasing her from his hold.

Lucy grinned, leaning into the kiss quickly, and once he released her, she crawled off of the bed. "Don't burn the place down," she playfully warned, trotting into the bathroom.

No sooner than had the door shut than the kids were also excitedly knocking on the door. They must have found something really interesting!

"Not without you to help me do it~" he purred mischievously before turning hi eyes to the door and just chuckling. He padded over to the entrance and threw it open for the two bundles of energy he'd expected a while ago.

Lucy burst into laughter at that, before Natsu would hear water running as she proceeded to start freshening up. What a man, honestly.

The moment the door was opened, Nev and Justine both barrelled in, trying to talk all at the same time. "Natsu Natsu Natsu!" "You'll never believe it!" "Lucy talked about them a lot -" Quiet Nev!" "But I wanna tell him!" "But Lucy's not here yet! We should wait for both of them!" "But it'll go away soon!" "Regine's with it!" "So-!" "So she won't let it fly away -" Their animated chatter quickly was going from 'Guess what we found' to sibling bickering.

"Good morning to you too, Nev and Justine." he chuckled sticking his tongue out playfully.

Natsu was starting to feel his head spin a little bit since the kids were chittering away between each other so quickly he could only help but be confused.

"Well Lucy's in the shower right now so it might take a bit. Are you sure thing can wait that long?" Natsu asked

Nev grinned sheepishly at Natsu's greeting, and the siblings quieted down. "Sorry, Natsu," Justine smiled sheepishly.

"Sorry," Nev echoed a half second later, after his sister poked him.

Justine considered, "It is..? I don't think it's going to stay that long." She pouted a little. SHe really wanted to show them both at the same time..

Nev on the other hand, was TOTALLY fine with just s howing his hero the Thing(tm), and he reached forward to grab Natsu's hand, "We can ask it to stay longer! Come with us, Natsu!"

"It's okay~" Natsu shook his head ruffling Nev's hair a little. Whatever it was that got them this worked up clearly had to be quite spectacular.

"Woah there Nev. Okay I'll follow you. Justine you mind staying here to lead Lucy over to wherever this something is?"

It was super AWESOME as far as Nev was concerned. And he beamed when His Hero agreed to go with him. YAY he's going to be the first one to show It off to Natsu!

Justine pouted a little, since she wanted to be present to show the thing to the both of her heroes, but since this was a favor to Natsu, she nodded, "Okay!" Besides, she adored Lucy and being able to hog the other girl's attention to herself for a change was a treat! ~~Natsu should know that one perfectly well.~~

Nev was already at the door, jogging in place, "Come on, come on come onnnnnnnn!"

"Thanks Justine." Natsu managed to say before chuckling and following Nev who seemed to be completely buzzed with excitement for showing him what exactly the two kids had found.

"So you want to give me any clues about what you found?"

Justine headed upstairs to wait for Lucy to come out of the shower, meanwhile, while her little brother excitedly bounced on his toes. Once they got going, he could barely contain himself to stay at Natsu's side, "Ummm, it's a... uh... it's like a bug, but girly!"

"A...bug but girly?" Yeah Nev was losing Natsu fast but he couldn't help but feel more and more curious about it all. SO he followed Nev at his quick pace quickly making their way to the place where this grand discovery was made. All the while several creatures were popping up in his mind that he felt could fit such a vague description.

Nev didn't offer any more clues than that, but he didn't have to. When he excitedly pushed the door open, Regina was the first to be seen, standing behind the counter. She gave a bemused smile towards Nev, and apologetic one to Natsu. "I tried to tell them not to bother you two so early. Is Justine with Lucy?"

"Yes she is~. I asked her to lead Lucy here after she was done with freshening up. So. What's this about a weird bug I hear from from Nev?" He said after greeting Regina with a chuckle.

Regine inwardly cringed at the 'weird bug' comment, "Well, it's ... over there.." She said, glancing over towards what looked like an arts and crafts little house on the table. A poorly made arts and crafts house because it shuddered, shook and then fell apart as something glowing a bright red zipped up from the remains.

"Weird Bug? WEIRD BUG? What the hell, how many times do I have to say it! I'm a FAIRY, F-A-I-R-Y! You humans have NO manners, what do I have to do lay a curse on you to -"

Nev pointed, "See, it's the bug!"

"Goddamnit." The fairy in question barely had a form, just a ball of light and dragonfly-like wings but the voice was definitely female. And though it didn't have a /face/ per se, it did have a way of seeming to 'look' at each person in the room till it settled on Natsu. "Who's THAT?"

The bug speaks?! Though wait. Did she just...she did. She said Fairy. Natsu's eyes went wide as plates since this was the first time he saw a fairy in the flesh!

"I'm Natsu. You're really a fairy?!" Could they taste the excitement coming from the Dragon Slayer? Most likely. It was pretty much the same as Nev's. But at least he stopped calling her a bug.

"Huh? Nasu? That's weird. What are you named after an eggplant for?" The fairy scoffs lightly, bobbing from side to side to swivel its attention around the room.

Nev laughed, "No no, NaTsu! With a Tea!"

"That's even weirder, drinking tea with eggplants." The fairy huffed, then rotated again, "So, Natsu huh? I'm ... I'm Apricot, yeah. Nice to meet you, heh!"

The door swung open on that note, with Lucy being dragged by Justine, the older girl squawking, "Justine, my hair isn't dry yet --! Slow down!"

"Apricot huh. Sounds like a tasty name alright. Guess that's just how fairies like to decide names~" Natsu shot back with a cheeky grin right before Lucy was dragged into the room by Justine.

"Oh hey~ Lucy. Look who's here."

"Don't go getting weird ideas, buddy, I'm not food." Apricot huffed.

Justine giggled, letting go of Lucy's hand, and the girl straightened to try and wring her hair out - only to glance at her boyfriend at an idea, "Natsu, could you?" Dry her hair pleease.

Though when he directed her attention to something else in the room, Lucy glanced around from the excitedly practically -vibrating- children to Regina, and then th... the.. "Wh.. what is that is... that ...."

"It's a fairy!" Nev burst out, so beyond excited he couldn' even wait long enough for her to come to that realization herself.

"We found it yesterday when we were looking around in the forest!" Justine added, gloating. just a bit.

"Hah! I'm just messing with you. I'm more of a spicy food kind of -" He paused just as he turned around to greet Lucy wiht a grin. He held his hand up and ignited it with his perfect fire control.

"Come on then. You can come say hi too and I'll take care of your hair while you do~"

Apricot bobbed in the air a little, wavered a bit and turned her attention to Lucy when she came in. "And who's this?"

Lucy started a bit, moving over to Natsu's side so he could dry her hair, which was getting so much longer at this point, she thought about cutting it. A little bit. Except Natsu seemed to really like running his fingers through her hair, so ..cutting it could wait. "My name is Lucy," she said to the fairy, still kind of stunned. "How... did Nev and Justine even -find- you? I haven't seen a fairy like you in... well, ever. Except for that one time the I met the spirits of Genessia but.." uh. They were kind of assholes.

"Rule of thumb, spirits and fairies and pixies, they're all super different. *pause* Lucy eh? Those two little humans helped me out of a bind earlier, and offered to let me stay here to meet you. I had a pretty good laugh at the name of this place, lemme tell ya."

"A bind? WhaT kind of bind? Did you get stuck in a spiderweb or something?" Because he couldn't see the little kids fighting a monster to save a fairy just yet. So given the Fairy's size he had to presume something more small scale was involved.

All the while his hands kept running through Lucy's hair, drying it off so effortlessly.

"As a matter of fact, yes." If she had a body she'd be blushing. What a way for a fairy to go. "The little human boy smacked the web down so I could get unstuck because the little human GIRL thought I was a -bug-."

"I said I was sorry!" Justine protested, pouting. Lucy giggled, giving Justine a pat, relaxing with the feel of Natsu's hands running through her hair. So soothing.

"Yes yes, so you did, so you did. Well, at least you didn't want to put me in a jar."

Neveren offered NO apology, but gave an even bigger grin while Regine palmed her face. "Nev, really?"

"Hah well I'm sure you know they weren't trying to be mean to you." Natsu grinned from behind Lucy, putting the finishing touches on drying her hair when he saw Nev' completely unrepentant grin. Someone was really taking after his hero more and more by the day.
