Spending day after day in the cabin Natsu had built near the Guild, going on missions and living, being WITH Natsu was plain and simple, pure. Heaven. Lucy could genuinely not think of any time she was as happy as she was with him. It still amused her to think of the times she was too flustered to acknowledge her feelings for him, until things came to a head.

And then the kids came along during that mission - Nev and Justine, along with their 'mom' Regine. If Natsu becoming an integral part of Lucy's life was like completing her, then the kids and Regine were the added frosting on a perfected cake. Yeah that metaphor was all over the place. GRANTED it was a little difficult to get time alone with Nev and Justine almost demanding their attention a good amount of the time, but she didn't mind, and didn't think Natsu did either. They had their evenings together, and their little hiding spots to sneak away to, sometimes just for fun.

Meanwhile the first rays of light were beginning to filter in through the window-shades of their room, with Lucy snuggled up against Natsu's side, an arm wrapped around him with a faint smile on her lips. Not quite awake yet, but in that in-between point of just about to rouse. The birds had barely even begun to chirp when the distant BAM! of a door swinging open, followed by barely hushed giggling voices and scampering feet could be heard by Dragonslayer senses with ease, obviously heading towards said cabin.

Natsu carefully adjusted his flames for the new position to allow the perfect roasting for the marshmallow while he reveled in the warmth and softness of Lucy's body in his arms. She was just so perfect to him and he would do nothing to ruin this moment right now.

"Well if you like it so much you just have to say the word and we'll do it again."

She grinned to herself at the adjustment, and to reward his cooperation she did not, in fact, eat the marshmallow herself this time. Instead she shifts a little to carefully hold up the treat to her precious love so he can eat the noms. "Hmmm, every day it rains?" She kind of like the cozy feel of hearing the rain outside, while cuddling in his arms and eating snacks. It was probably also the ultimate in lazy things to do.

Hrm. Would it get boring to go camping -every- time it rains? What if it rained all week?

And nom he does as Natsu snaps up the marshmallow with glee. Her hypothetical question gave him a moment of pause as he considered things.

"Hmmm well if you're sure you wouldn't get sick of it then sure~" He didn't expect rain to come that often really so that promise would be largely irrelevant anyway right?

Lucy shifted a little, enough to look at him as he nommed up that marshmallow, grinning at how pleased he was with the treat. "Hrmm. Well, I could put that question to you too since you're be spending your time with me. Would you get sick of it?" she already knew her answer. With him, she'd never get sick of anything. Especially with their habit of making things interesting each time.

She chuckles afterwards, "How can you be a messy eater still with just a marshmallow?" She licked her thumb and leaned over to wipe a bit of non-existent marshmallow off of his chin - then changed her mind, and teasingly brushed her tongue over a corner of his mouth, following it up with a little peck on his cheek. "Maybe I should have gotten napkins."

She's such a faker.

Me? Get sick of it? Not a chance in the world." Natsu was genuine with that answer too. The light in his eyes was fed directly by Lucy's onw and mirrored it to the point that Natsu just could no longer see himmself but at Lucy's side.

"I can't he-"He didn't get to finish though as she wiped some of the marshmallows with her tongue. Or so he thought before he felt those soft lips pressing to his cheek too.

"Mmmm nah this will do just fine~"

The mischief on Lucy's face was off the charts, "Hm? Did you say something?" She teased him gently. Though she couldn't keep looking innocent, breaking in soft giggles. "Good, then we have the seem idea, so you don't have to worry."

Reaching up with a free hand, she moved to touch his chin, giving him a 'serious' look. "Mm.. I think I missed a spot." How terrible! Don't worry, she'll get it for him, as she leaned forward to sneak another kiss with a giggle.

"Mmm nope." Shame? Remoprse? Those are for petty mortals on the draogn king and his wonderfuil lover.

"Mmmm oh did you? Why don't you get at it then~" Almost as if daring her to kiss him again which she ended up doing anyway.

She was never one to refuse him, especially when it came to dares, "Maybe I will," she grinned. In fact, she did, though aside from her tongue gently tracing over his lip, she kept the kiss surprisingly innocent, rather than give in to the temptation of pressing for more. At the moment at least. After the first kiss, she pulled back slightly with a smug, amused smile, "Mm, Marshmallow kisses.."

Luckily Natsu held back too or else his poor partner would get swept up into his flow completely if he actually pushed just right for it.

"Tasty aren't they~?"

It was always a risk when she was being affectionate with him, that she'd get swept up in his flow, or her own. But a risk she was willing to take.

She licked her lips thoughtfully, grinning and leaning against him again, picking up the bag of marshmallows to see how many were left. "Delicious," she confirmed with a soft purr, this time simply pulling out an untoasted marshmallow and holding it up to him for him to nom right out of her hand like a good dragon.

"It makes me a little curious though." Peppermint kisses? Ooh, chocolate - well now she was just getting silly. "But I think I like the natural taste best."

Like a good dragon she had completely tamed. And yet Natsu didn't hesitate for a moment to just snap up the marhsmallow from her hand with a single quick chomp before he turned his face to nuzzle against her neck.

"Well isn't that funny~ So do I~"

She giggled softly when he chomped up the marshmallow, reaching for another, this time snuggling back into him cozylike as she toasted the marshmallow. "Hrmm.. is that right? Well we do share a lot of the same preferences.." Like enjoying those nuzzles, as he got a soft purr in response to when he nuzzled against her neck. Oh she is in /heaven/.

"Isn't that normal though~? " Then again why ask her since this was her first and only love in her life so he was learning along with him. There was no experience difference between either of them and that just made the experience that much more precious~

His question actually makes her pause, thoughtfully. "Actually... I don't know if it's -normal- for most couples. I think... it's normal for us?" She plucked the marshmallow off the skewer, nipped it in half and offered him the other half, "After all you are the first, and only, person I ever fell for."

"Then that just means other couples should be jealous of us~" Natsu had no problem with that however. AFter ll his love for Lucy was something to broadcast loudly nad proudly to the world at large.

Lucy grinned, leaning over to take her turn nuzzling against his neck, "I can't argue that." she agreed with a chuckle, "I'm convinced part of the reason Levy ended up with Gajeel in the first place is because she knows how happy you make me." Even before he made Lucy that happy. She tilted her head a little, to murmur in a soft purr, "And you DO make me unbelievably happy."

"Hah~ Well wouldn't be surprised if that was the case~" Natsu said smugly, puffing his chest up a little as he snuggled up behind Lucy all the more, his arms wrapping around her in a cocoon of warmth and absolute adoration.

"And I am gonna keep doing that forever and ever~"

Lucy laughed softly at his smug response. She'll let him have that, because he deserved it. Also because of the snuggles - that cocoon of warmth and love made it difficult to poke his ego down.

Instead she grins, setting the rest of the marshmallows aside and shifting so she can snuggle into his arms better. "Then it's good we have forever to look forward to." She grinned, slipping her arms around him as well. "Because I'll spend the rest of my life and more to make you happy too."

"Hehe~ Did you read that kind of line in a book or did you come up with it yourself~?" Natsu purred, mischief teasing her at every turn as he held the most precious treasure in existence to his chest.

Lucy hmphed, "Are you trying to make me take back my words?" She mock pouted, settling her position curled up against her beloved, listening to his teasing and the rain outside of their cozy little tent.

She did admit her line was a LITTLE cheesy, but still! He's come up with some cheesy comments too! "I have more where that came from, you know." She's read enough books with romantic plotlines.

"Nope. Wouldn't dream of it~" Natsu teased right back seeing that pouting on her lips. He was so tempted to seal them with a kiss but just barely held back.

"Oh do you now~ I wonder what else you got waiting then~"

Lucy grinned. Oh he opened a pandora's box. "Well if you REALLY want to know... there are a few I know." As if he had to twist her arm. "'I wrote your name in the sky but the wind blew it away. I wrote your name in the sand but the waves washed it away. I wrote your name in my heart and forever it will stay.'" she giggled, "It's.. probably the cheesiest one, but I like it." She thought for a moment, "'Every star in the sky represents every time I think of you.'" Another cheesy one. But she has more! This one delivered in a soft whisper. "'If kisses were snowflakes, I'd send you a blizzard.'"

"uwwwaaah that first one took too long to get to the good part. Like that second one and-" he stopped short, a strong shudder wracking his body as he heard that whisper that seemed to worm its way into his head completely.

"Ngh...the way you said that makes up for it being the same element as frost princess."

Aww. But Lucy laughs, because it DID take a while to get to the point. She still thought it was sweet though. But oh, his reaction to the third one. Goodness.

"Hrm... you have a point. Okay then, how about this?.." she could modify it for him. She thought for a second, then nuzzled close again to whisper even more intimiately, "If kisses were flames, I'd send you an inferno."

Oh that was even better both in element pick and the fact that the whisper was even more sultry than before making Natsu's body shudder with utter delight.

"Better....a lot better~"
