Spending day after day in the cabin Natsu had built near the Guild, going on missions and living, being WITH Natsu was plain and simple, pure. Heaven. Lucy could genuinely not think of any time she was as happy as she was with him. It still amused her to think of the times she was too flustered to acknowledge her feelings for him, until things came to a head.

And then the kids came along during that mission - Nev and Justine, along with their 'mom' Regine. If Natsu becoming an integral part of Lucy's life was like completing her, then the kids and Regine were the added frosting on a perfected cake. Yeah that metaphor was all over the place. GRANTED it was a little difficult to get time alone with Nev and Justine almost demanding their attention a good amount of the time, but she didn't mind, and didn't think Natsu did either. They had their evenings together, and their little hiding spots to sneak away to, sometimes just for fun.

Meanwhile the first rays of light were beginning to filter in through the window-shades of their room, with Lucy snuggled up against Natsu's side, an arm wrapped around him with a faint smile on her lips. Not quite awake yet, but in that in-between point of just about to rouse. The birds had barely even begun to chirp when the distant BAM! of a door swinging open, followed by barely hushed giggling voices and scampering feet could be heard by Dragonslayer senses with ease, obviously heading towards said cabin.

Lucy chuckled - "You can't keep using the Dragon defense you know." She teased.

Though, damnit. "Look you're going to have to stop doing that if I'm going to help you." Making those.. those heart melting sultry noises. "It's distracting!" HMPH. She steps over to the armchair, however, and grabs hold of it, tugging it slowly out of the way.

"Why not? It works every time~" Natsu answered with a shameless shrug before turning a grin up at her.

"Distracting? Not sure I get what you're talking about~" That was a bold faced lie and he wasn't even trying to hide it this time.

"It's a cheat!" Lucy giggled. Unfair of him - the dragon defense can beat out any mock argument she has! HMPF.

Though he gets another SHARP look at that blatant BLATANT lie, before laughing. WOW not even -attempting- to pretend innocence there Natsau. "HA! You know exactly what I mean you scamp."

" NO it's not~ It's the truth~" Natsu shot back again huffing and puffing his chest out proudly. This was too much fun just messing around with Lucy like this safe in the knowledge that no magic hunting murderers were lurking in the shadows watching for an opening to get at them or the ones they loved.

"Scamp? Can a scamp do this then?" He said quickly appearing behind Lucy and nipping at her neck.

Lucy laughed, "Truth from a dragon, so it's a baised truEEK!!" Lucy squealed in surprise when Natsu ambushed her with that neck-nip.

Sputtering a giggle, she swatted at him, "Scamp or Rogue, you're still a mischief maker~!" AHEM. She's WATCHING you and your shenanigans, buster. Though after a moment she risks glancing away to see what else they need to move. The table maybe? If it was higher they could have thrown a blanket over it for the 'tent'. Alas.

"Talking as if you woulod be any better in my position~" He did chuckle playfully once he got the drop on his belovdd celetial mage like this.

"Hmmmm I wonder. What if we put one of the chairs up on the table then throw the blanet over that~"

"I would." Lucy answered playfully, raising a hand to run her fingers through his hair, giving a little scritch. "Hrm... that could work..~! You position the ch airs and I'll get a blanket." She grinned, drawing her hand away to pad over to the closet.

"Hmph alright then~ I'll get the really really big one then~" Naturally he knew exactly how many blankets and how thig or large they might be. So while Lucy got the chair put up he returned with the massive blanket wrapped around his arms.

He's done this before, hasn't he! Lucy stared at him in disbelief when he emerged with the massive blanket. "Isn't that TOO big?" She glanced at the table - actually it might be just big enough. Plenty big even. "You can handle that," she was going to get the pillows and another blanket for them to curl up on.

"No way. Not if you want a cozy atmosphere to cuddle up and huddle up in~" Natsu grinned as he moved to lay out the blanket until a dom was made with a small opening for both him and Lucy to crawl inside.

"That's why I have you, isn't it?" Lucy grinned, watching him sort out the blanket, then crouched to peer into the opening before she placed the other layer of blankets down with a pillow for the both of them. "There, nice and cozy." She glanced over her shoulder, "It hasn't quite started raining yet though." Just a few drips of drizzle.

"Hmmmm You're right. SO wanna stay on the couch a bit then before we gegt inside that little blanket cave of ours?" Just sitting with Lucy there sounded quite delightful indeed.

Lucy nodded with a smile, "Let me see if I have those marshmallows though." she grinned, trotting off into the kitchen to check around. "After all, you did promise to make a nice campfire that won't burn everything." Now she has to remember where she put everything - fortunately, her being back home was waking up those cobwebs, so after only one or two mis-guesses, she finds the correct cabinet and pops out of the kitchen, triumphant! "Look!" She holds up a bag of marshmallows and a few skewer sticks. VICTORY!

"Awesome. THough I don't really need to do a campfire just yet. I can just hold my hands in your lap while you it in mind and you can roast the marshmallows for us both~" YEs he had a plan even for such an opportunity. Someone had been thinking of a lot of ways to enjoy his time wiht Lucy.

He really has~! Lucy giggles, tucking the marshmallows and spears into their little cuddle tent, but moves to sit on the couch instead "Mmm, that sounds like a good plan." She grinned, "And would the sir like the madam to feed him said marshmallows too?" She reached out for his hands to tug him over and sit with her. "Although melty marshmallows can get messy. I'll have to lick it off my fingers." Stop that, Lucy.

"He would indeed. It's one of his favorite ways to eat after all~" Natsu answered with a cheeky grin as he sat down first and pulled Lucy into his lap so he could put both arms around her before cupping his hands in her lap and ignigting his palms until a nice warm blaze crackled to life atop his palms.

"Oh noo~ Well if you don't want to do it I can always lick it for you~"

"Well it IS expected of a king to get the luxury of being fed by his queen." Lucy teased, shifting into a comfortable spot in his lap. Wrapping an arm around his shoulders as he warmed the both of them. She laughed, a pink tinge to her cheeks at the flirty banter, "Hmmm, I might take you up on that," she teased, "Or we could take turns."

"Is it a luxury when it's a right that comes with the throne~?" Natsu answered shamelessly as he wiggled a bit underneath Lucy to settle and get really comfortable so she could start working the marshmallows in the greatest of comfort.

"Oh, a right is it?" She laughed. "Who says it's a right?" She grinned, though when he shifted, she hesitated a moment. "Don't get too comfortable - we're going to have to go into our 'tent' when it starts raining." Lucy advised with a giggle, spearing the marshmallow on a skewer. "If you get too cozy you're not going to want to get up at all."

"I do~ Of course you get that right too~" Natsu added with a proud purr. He chuckled as she pointed out the inevitable, only making him chuckle all the more.

"Oh you let me worry about getting us inside the tent."

Lucy poked at the marshmallow until it was nice and lightly browned, carefully easing it off the skewer before holding it out to feed the gooey goodness to her beloved. Man if the Guild could see her now. "That's ... a very ominous statement to make, coming from you." She grinned. Now she wasn't sure what to expect!

Natsu leaned over her shoulder to pluck the delicious marshmallow with a content hum as he soaked in with the wonderful taste.

"Oh is it? You think I'll just drag you in? Even though you're more than willing to go inside with me~"

Lucy giggled softly, brushing her thumb against his lips as she pretended to consider her answer, "Well.. it's definitely not something outside the realm of what you would do.." she pointed out. "You -do- like dragging me places, even though I'm perfectly capable and willing to go with you somewhere." Just because he thought it was funny! "It must be a dragon thing."

Pretending being the key word since Natsu could tell she was already decided. Even so he let her think she got away with it as he licked his lips suggestively after finishing his marshmallow.

"That might be true but you actually like getting dragged off~"

Of course she had. It was all part of their fun. Though when she saw him lick his lips like that, she catches her breath slightly, and then quickly glances back to the fire in his hands, clearing her throat as she speared another mallow. "Really. And what makes you think that?" The amusement in her voice, maybe?
